KAI Foundation Aids Uganda's Anti-Poaching Efforts
Global travel bans have affected economies around the world that rely on tourism dollars to support local communities. One terrible result of this was the death of the silverback gorilla Rafiki at the hands of poachers in Uganda in June. The KAI Foundation teamed up with Care for Rangers to raise money to support the anti-poaching units of the Uganda Wildlife Authority. We raffled off two gorilla trekking permits for Bwindi National Park, and raised over $7,500!
On average, $20 covers one ranger's salary and food rations for a day. These are the most pressing needs for the UWA anti-poaching units and all contributions will go towards these immediate needs, as well as protective gear and first aid kits, to ensure the Ugandan wildlife is protected.
100% of all contributions went directly towards feeding and properly outfitting the rangers through our partners at Care for Rangers.

On the Passing of a Dear Friend
A note from our Chairman, Henry Kartagener, on the passing of a dear friend:
It is with deep regret that we inform you of the passing our good friend and former colleague at KAI, Kirsten Reichert. Kirsten battled her illness for a considerable period of time. Kirsten was the first employee to join KAI in 1996 and remained with us until she retired and moved to Florida with her husband Dick.
Kirsten’s dedication and commitment in the early days of KAI were instrumental in building the foundation that has enabled us to grow the company to what it is today. We will forever remember Kirsten’s positive outlook, laugh and willingness to partake in an adult beverage after work. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to call her a friend.
